It’s been very quiet around here since the show. Mostly that’s been down to th unnaturally hot weather we’ve been having. This Devon, it’s summertime, it’s supposed to be raining! 😉 it’s also Wimbledon. Nothing get’s done during Wimbledon. Well not usually anyway. It just so happens that the Highways Agency are, allegedly, coming to replace their collapsed drain. So the next few days are going to be challenging, in the extreme, on so many levels. Believe me, the Agro has already started, and, although they were supposed to be here on Friday, they haven’t started yet.
The horses have been confined to the bottom field, and there will have to stay til the work is done. Hal has had to take down the paddock fencing, and take out some of the fence posts. . Once the work starts, supposedly tomorrow, we will have a huge trench from halfway down our driveway to three quarters of way down the top field. The dogs won’t be able to go in the garden unless they are on a lead, and it will b impossible for me to independently get to the yard ,or the horses. As if this wasn’t enough to contend with, the endearing absentee land owners who used to own our place, and still own the adjoining land, have chosen this moment to start playing silly buggers with our right of way across their land!
Believe me, it’s going to be a long week!
